Why Board Books Are Different from Regular Books

Board books are built for babies and toddlers—they must survive chewing, dropping, and repeated page-turning. Unlike standard hardcover books, board books use thick paperboard (typically 350gsm C1S), rounded corners (R≥5mm), and wipeable lamination. Choosing the wrong manufacturer can lead to safety hazards and customs issues.

3 Compliance Questions to Ask Before You Order

1. Can you provide material safety data sheets (MSDS)? A reliable Guangzhou printing factory should offer MSDS for inks and adhesives. We use eco-friendly soy-based inks and non-toxic water-based glue.
2. Do you support third-party testing? We can send samples to your designated lab for CPSIA or EN71 testing. Many of our clients handle testing on their end, but we fully support the process.
3. Can you print tracking labels? For the US market, CPSIA requires a permanent tracking label with manufacturer name, city, production date, and batch number. We can print this directly onto the book during production.
